On 11-8-05 at about 0819 hours 17 year old Sandra
Castaneda was struck in a crosswalk at Euclid Avenue and Princeton Street as
she walked to Chaffey High School. Two vehicles had stopped southbound on
Euclid Avenue in the #1 and #2 lane to allow her to pass. A third vehicle
continued Southbound on Euclid Avenue and stuck Sandra in the #3 lane. The
vehicle appears to have been speeding and changing lanes prior to the
collision. The suspect vehicle continued southbound without slowing. The force
of the impact threw Sandra approximately 80 feet. She is currently in critical
condition at a local hospital. Evidence located at the scene indicates the
left front turn signal and headlight were damaged.
The suspect vehicle is as a 1990-1994 Honda Accord maroon
in color. It should have a broken driver's side turn signal and headlight.
There should also be damage to the front bumper, hood, and possibly the
windshield. The attached photo is the four door model, however it is unknown
if the suspect vehicle is a 2 door or 4 door.
