WeTip’s Mission & Purpose

E-mail Print
We, the management and Board of Directors of WeTip Inc., here set forth our belief as to the purpose for which this 501 (C)(3), Non-profit Corporation is established and the principles under which it should operate.  We pledge our effort to the accomplishment and the adherence of these purposes within these principles. WeTip was founded over three decades ago as an anonymous crime reporting resource for citizens, and a tool to aid law enforcement. This tremendously successful program has dramatically impacted crime and has significantly reduced crime incidents in communities and schools nationwide.  WeTip is committed to providing the most effective anonymous citizens crime reporting system in the nation.  WeTip promises and insures absolute anonymity, not just confidentiality.  We are in the age of hotlines, a different one for each and every situation. This phenomenon has frustrated WeTip since its inception 34 years ago. Informants will call up WeTip in a panic and explain that they had called another hotline; they were told they were anonymous, they gave information, and now they have been served with a subpoena to appear in court to testify.

Basic Purpose
The basic purpose of WeTip Inc. is to provide an absolutely anonymous crime reporting resource to residents, students and businesses throughout the entire Nation.  WeTip has been established by citizens and for citizens, who have information regarding a crime but fear reprisal from the criminal they are turning in. WeTip has been created as an effective tool for law enforcement, not to circumvent law enforcement, but to help law enforcement and corporate security investigations. This tool is for the segment of the population that will not contact the law enforcement agency directly.

What We Do
To accomplish WeTip's basic purpose, and to ensure it's strength, WeTip operators will staff the toll free, nationwide crime hotlines and Internet lines, 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year. The organization will not be restricted by jurisdictional enforcement lines or perimeters, and will relay all tip information to every law enforcement agency necessary.  WeTip will provide the maximum amount of information possible to law enforcement to enable them to conduct an investigation based on the anonymous information. WeTip will answer the crime call anywhere in America for Municipalities, School Districts, Corporations, Small Businesses, Housing Authorities and public and private agencies. WeTip will actively and aggressively pursue training and public access to WeTip's resources throughout all mediums available.

Where We Do It
WeTip Inc. will provide the anonymous crime-reporting Hotlines throughout the entire United States, and including, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, portions of Canada and Mexico. The Internet crime-reporting resource will provide the anonymous tip system throughout the world regarding any major crime including violent crime, property crime, fraudulent crime and corporate crime.

The Core Values That Have Formed WeTip's Foundation Include:
• Neutral Third Party Organization created by Citizens for Citizens
• Total Anonymity of the informant with no exceptions
• Live operators staffing the phone, never an answering machine or answering service
• Continuous service around the clock, 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year
• Non-Jurisdictional hotline service, regardless of city, county or state lines
• Sending multiple crime tips to all concerned local, state, federal and allied international law enforcement agencies

How It Works
“This is the WeTip Crime Hotline, Please do not give your name or identify yourself in any way.”

Questions asked have been developed with the help of law enforcement to obtain the maximum amount of information possible.

Up to 65 questions are asked of informants. If there is an arrest and conviction do you want a reward?-  3 part code name.
